A Message From the Post Commander

Illinois Boys State 2016:

The next four months (April - July) will determine the level of competency at which we will be able to operate. Our objectives are as follows: Elect and install a complete slate of officers. Approve a complete revision of our bylaws. Establish a financial budget for fiscal year 2017. Responsibly increase our membership. The ground work in these areas has already been established by four competent standing committees. We strongly suggest that you attend as many of the next few meetings as you can to fulfill the required election and bylaw approval processes. Thank all of you fellow legionnaires for your assistance over the past two years. All comments, positive as well as negative, were taken seriously.

God bless all of you and your families

      To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America;
      To maintain law and order;
      To foster and perpetuate a one hundred percent Americanism;
      To preserve the memories and incidents of our associations in the Great Wars;
      To inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community, state and nation;
      To combat the autocracy of both the classes and the masses;
      To make right the master of might;
      To promote peace and goodwill on earth;
      To safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom and democracy;
      To consecrate and sanctify our comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.
