Honor Guard

An honor guard has been established under authority of the American Legion Post 246 Constitution. The Post 246 Honor Guard provides dignified military honors to fellow veterans who have passed on.
All honorably discharged veterans are entitled to full Military Honors at burial. The Department of Defense can not always provide personnel for this purpose. With a request by the family, coordinated with the funeral director, Post 246 will render to the deceased the honors they deserve. Three volleys by the firing squad, the sounding of taps, the folding of the American Flag and presentation to the next of kin.

In 2015:
The American Legion Post 246 Honor Guard was present at 249 Military Honors burials.

In 2016: (As of 11/17/2016)
The American Legion Post 246 Honor Guard was present at 182 Military Honors burials.

*The Honor Guard is looking for a few good men and women. No full time commitment is necessary.*
