American Legion Post 246

Moline Illinois

Commander - November 2016
My fellow legionaires, I have been elected to serve as your Post Commander. First of all, I want to thank our past commander, Jack Smith, for the great job he has done for us for the last 2 years. With the help of our newly elected officers we will follow in the direction Jack has started us on and that is to respond to the needs of our veterans and to our community, as the new in commander, and Jack as out going commander, we both requested an internal audit of our financial statements for post 246, this was done on August 29th, 2016. Everything was in great order, and I want to thank Dale for the great job he is doing for out post. we are fast approaching the holidays, and I want to remind everyone on Thanksgiving to pause to give thanks for what you have. I want to wish everone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. God Bless America For God and Country Harry C. Scarff Sr. Commander American Legion Post 246

FOR GOD AND COUNTRY SINCE 1919

Well Legionaires, I don’t know where this year has gone. We will soon be giving thanks on thanksgiving day and before you know it, it will be Christmas, and then we are in a new year.  During this past year I had the opportunity to pray with some of you, also eight weeks ago I stopped in to visit with Bob Widner at Heartland, we had a great visit, and two weeks ago, I stopped by to see Bob again, but he was released and had gone home.  Bob is now cancer free, but keep him in your prayers.   If I can be of service to any of you, please call me anytime.  I want to thank all of you for your service to this great nation.  For God and Country, and God Bless all of you.

In Christ’s Love
